Associate Professor

Areas of interest

Dr. Schmidt's research portfolio and publications demonstrate a focused scholarly trajectory that
intersects leadership and gender in areas outside the Western hemisphere, as well as Western-
dominated leadership.
Her research reflects a diverse demographic that includes ongoing, compelling and understudied non-Western forms of scholarship that capture women's experiences in a developing country and, more recently, in a rural, northern province of Canada. In addition, the intersection of scholarship and teaching have yielded an interactive opportunity for students to share their thoughts about narrative writing as a decolonizing praxis.
