Equity Studies in Education grad student wins prestigious teaching award

Equity Studies in Education (ESE) grad student, Annie Ohana, has been named as a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Excellence in Teaching award. Ohana, a teacher at L.A. Matheson Secondary in Surrey, is one of 6 British Columbia teachers to be recognized.
A champion for her community and a believer in an interdisciplinary approach, Ohana infuses Indigenous learning into her classroom, asking her students how science and math can bring out the creative power of language.
