Dr. Roger Frie shortlisted for 2018 Vine Awards

Dr. Roger Frie's Not in My Family: German Memory and Responsibility after the Holocaust (OUP, 2017) has been shortlisted for the 2018 Vine Awards for Canadian Jewish Literature in the History Category. In addition to this shortlist, Not in My Family is the recipient of the 2017 Canadian Jewish Literary Award and 2018 Western Canada Jewish Book Award.

The Vine Awards honour both the best Canadian Jewish writers and Canadian authors who deal with Jewish subjects in four categories; fiction, non-fiction, history and young adult/children’s literature; each with a prize of $10,000. An additional $10,000 prize for poetry will be awarded again in 2019. The jurors, Beverley Chalmers, Joseph Kertes and Lee Maracle, reviewed 59 entries.

Winners will be announced on 11th October at an Award Luncheon at the Windsor Arms Hotel, Toronto.
