Advising and Resources
Academic advising is available to provide you with guidance throughout your educational experience. Advisors can help you make important decisions about your academic career and your professional future. Advisors also provide you with the tools you need to navigate the university, its departments, and its programs. At SFU, different levels of academic advising are available to you.
First Year Students
If you are a first year student (fewer than 30 units completed), please contact one of our first year Faculty Liaison Advisors or connect with Student Services.

Live with an Advisor
We recognize that remote learning can be challenging for new students. First year advisors, Meghan and Rachel, hold weekly live advising sessions for new and first year FASS students, over Zoom, every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 – 2:30pm. No question is too big or too small! Students who register have access to all sessions being offered.
