Communication doctoral student in the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology

I'm a PhD student in the School of Communication, studying the intersections of cinema, technology, and aesthetics. I'm particularly interested in contemporary film and video art. Currently, I am working on a project examining the controversial legacy of New French Extremity through theories of embodiment and affect.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?

The interdisciplinary nature of the School of Communication felt very compelling.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?

I look at the space in-between technology and art.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT SFU?

I am enjoying the freedom to pursue my research.

HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR-FUNDED AWARDS? IF SO, PLEASE TELL US WHICH ONES AND A LITTLE ABOUT HOW THE AWARDS HAVE IMPACTED YOUR STUDIES AND/OR RESEARCH.
