Tell us a little about yourself, including what inspires you to learn and continue in your chosen field
I'm a master's student in Interactive Arts & Technology with a background in psychology and an interest in human-AI interaction. I'm motivated by curiosity about human behaviour and how research can help us better understand people's experiences with technology.
Why did you choose to come to SFU?
I chose SFU's School of Interactive Arts & Technology (SIAT) because it celebrates interdisciplinary thinking and the value of bringing together perspectives from different fields. I especially love how SIAT recognizes the importance of art and intentional design in shaping people's experiences with technology.
How would you describe your research or your program to a family member?
My research looks at how people interact with AI in public online spaces, like social media, and whether observing other people's interactions with AI, including how they like, reply to, or share AI-generated responses, can influence how we think and feel about AI.
What three (3) keywords would you use to describe your research?
Human-AI Interaction, Psychology, Social Media
How have your courses, RA-ships, TA-ships, or non-academic school experiences contributed to your academic and/or professional development?
My courses and research experiences have encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, develop new skills, and explore different areas of interest. They've also helped me work toward the personal and professional goals I set for myself when starting my master's degree.
