SpectraMax M5 Plate Reader
The Molecular Devices SpectraMax M5 plate reader is taken care of by the MBB Manager, Laboratory Operations. The SpectraMax has an associated computer so in order to use the plate reader, please contact the Manager (details below) to gain access via SFU ID and password.
The Molecular Devices SpectraMax M5 plate reader is dual monochromator, allowing selection of any absorbance wavelength between 200 nm and 1,000 nm, and any excitation wavelength between 250 nm and 850 nm for reading in fluorescence intensity, time-resolved fluorescence (TRF), or wavelength-selectable luminescence modes, and 400 - 750 nm for reading in fluorescence polarization mode. The instrument has a cuvette port that can be used for absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence readings and a plate drawer which will accommodate 6-well to 384-well plates.
