Dr. Michelle Pidgeon Nominee for YWCA Women of Distinction Awards

In honour of International Women's Day last week, the YWCA Metro Vancouver announced 85 outstanding nominees for the upcoming 34th Annual Women of Distinction Awards. Out of 85 nominees, 4 are from SFU, including Michelle Pidgeon, Associate Professor for the Faculty of Education.

"The nomination is a humbling one when you look at the amazing women that are fellow nominees- each person does amazing work to make sustained and systemic changes across the educational system in BC and to be considered amongst these amazing thinkers, leaders, and activists is truly an honour", said Pidgeon.

The winner's will be revealed on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 5:00pm to 9:30pm at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. For more information, including programs and services provided by the YWCA, visit their website, and stay connected on their Facebook and Twitter pages.
