draft/share a draft of the recommendation form
The Graduate Program Chair submits the Admission Recommendation Form, which may include text outlining any conditions and/or funding.
- The Admission recommendation form in Slate is a shared form, meaning a GPA or other user can prepare a draft to be finalized by the GPC.
- The Admission Recommendation form is only accessible when the application is in the bin called GPC Review (Admission Rec Form).
This page outlines options if you wish to have multiple people work on the same Admission Recommendation Form (ie., open the form to multiple users).
Access to goGRAD/Slate
- Access Slate's administrative side:
https://gograd.sfu.ca/manage/ - Access/share Slate's Reader (review) side:
https://gograd.sfu.ca/manage/reader/ - To access Slate's Reader from the administrative side, click the laptop icon:
Option 1: GPA completes drafts and sends to GPC
After the first user has completed their draft of the Recommendation Form:
- In the Next Bin dropdown, select GPC Review (Admission Rec Form) (current). This keeps the application in the current bin.
- In the Next Reader field enter the name of the Graduate Program Chair. This will add the application to their queue.
- In the Next Reader Notes (optional), add a note to appear in the next user's queue screen.
- Click Send - the next reader cannot see your draft form until you hit send.
When the next user opens the application and clicks the Review Form/Send to Bin button, they can access and edit the drafted recommendation form.
Option 2: Assign to multiple users first
In the GPC Review (Admission Rec Form) bin:
- Assign the application to multiple users (eg., the GPA and GPC both have the application in their queues).
- Have the first user complete a draft of the Recommendation form and click send (eg., program assistant completes form first). This first user should see a message that the application won't move bins.
When the next user opens the application and clicks the Review Form/Send to Bin button, they can access and edit the drafted recommendation form.
