Research Interests

Currently Rhonda Philpott is interested in exploring teacher identity and how it is deeply connected to teaching practice (in local and international settings) and teaching for social justice. Upon reflection, she has come to understand that an ever-evolving teacher/personal identity is at the core of teaching – it is what informs and shapes teaching practice.

She has spent many years exploring this notion and now uses this understanding as a base for all her curriculum development. Rhonda has spent a great deal of time creating spaces for students and practicing teachers to embark on their own exploration where they can examine how their personal and professional identity is connected to how/what/why they teach.
