Kassandra Mihaly

Like most students, Kassandra was looking for a program that would be the right fit for her, and was unsure of what direction she wanted to take, until she found the Communication program at SFU.

A transfer student from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Kassandra knew right away that this was the right move for her, and wanted to get involved in both the University and the program. She also wanted to make the most out of her degree, which is why she decided to pursue a minor in Print and Digital Publishing

Upon working as an Events Assistant for the University, Kassandra realized that she had a passion for event planning. This passion would lead her to the Communication Student Union, where she served as the Vice President of Events for a one year term.

To gain some valuable, hands-on experience in the field, Kassandra took advantage of the Communication Co-operative Education program. Currently she is working for FCAT as a Communication and Events Assistant in an eight month Co-op placement, and plans to pursue more Co-op work placements in the future.

“Co-op has really allowed me to learn more about myself - as a young work professional, a student, and an indivudal. The experience has opened my eyes to new career possibilites I never considered before.”
