goSFU is the student information system, which integrates with other systems, including goGRAD (admissions), GA3 (Awards) and the Funding Portal.
- It's important to know how to access and export student data in goSFU.
- Running the reports below can help prevent enrollment, grade and progress issues, and assist with projections and planning.
- All SFU employees have a legal obligation to protect personal information, including safeguarding individuals' privacy rights, complying with data protection regulations, and maintaining secure systems and protocols.

How to find and run a report in goSFU
This section outlines how to find a report in goSFU, enter parameters, and what to do on the process request and process monitor pages.

1: find the report in goSFU
There are various ways to find reports in goSFU:
- Search bar: search using the names of the reports listed in the table below
- Menu pathways: are given in the table below
Run Control: some reports may ask for a run control, which is your user id (or click search and click your id)
2: Enter Parameters
Enter Search Parameters (example below). Leave non required fields blank for wider range of results.
Click save and run (some reports will have search button and will display results here).
3: Process Request
On Process Scheduler Request, click OK. If you are directed back to the Report page, click Process Monitor.
4: Process Monitor
On Process Monitor, your request should show in the Process List table and may take a few minutes (click refresh to update).
Your report is ready when the Run Status shows Success and Distribution Status shows Posted.
Click Details > view log/trace. When you land on the Process Monitor page, click the csv file.

These reports can be used for monitoring graduate students, their awards and progress in goSFU.
- Your access in goSFU is not limited to these reports.
- The file path given uses the top right navigation in goSFU - the tile navigation in goSFU may differ from what is given below.

Grad Study Detail Report
GoSFU > Main Menu > Records and Enrollment > Enrollment Reporting > SFU Grad Studies Detail Rpt
Includes: Emplid, names, residency, program, program plan, subplans, current status, email, address, CGPA, admit term, requirement term, committee ID, supervisor(s), nbr of SFU terms, leaves not counted (time limit), terms remaining, enrollment status this term, last term active, graduation status, GPR status, supervisor evaluation (if entered on GPR), awards held (this term only).
Parameters: select SFUNV and current or future term only (cannot be used retroactively).
To monitor the status of current students and/or identify issues.
Enrolled this Term (column AH) shows if students are enrolled for the term the report was run for (Y or N).
Service Indicator Report
GoSFU > Main Menu > Records and Enrollment > SFU Records, Dept, GS Queries > SFU Departmental Queries
Includes: student ID, name staff who placed service indicator code, service indicator reason impacting current and incoming students, active term. Does not include students who have not yet activated their computing ID or information on financial holds.
Common Service Indicator codes:
- C09 - Student time has elapsed
- C41 - Document Required
- C42 - Completion of SFU program
- C43 - English Competency
- C44 - Course/CGPA Conditions
Beginning of each term
To identify issues impacting current and incoming students, including admission conditions
GS Award Download
GoSFU > Main Menu > Financial Aid > Awards > Restricted Aid > SFU Grad Awards > SFU GS Award Download
Includes: pay term, empl ID, name, email, country, dept, primary program, aid id, fund type, award name, payment status, status date, award amount, CGPA (funds codes can be ignored). Does not include future award records or those still in offered status in GA3.
Parameters: leave Academic Career, Program, Appl Status blank.
To obtain record of paid awards, best run after 6th week of pay term.
Unofficial Transcript
GoSFU > Main Menu > Records and Enrollment > Transcripts > Request Transcript Report (or use search bar)
Provides: outline of courses and units completed per term, GPA and CGPA, leave terms, awards held, date and name of thesis (if applicable).
Unofficial Transcript is exportable as pdf. Do not use/run advising transcripts
As needed for GS forms, award nominations etc
GS - Blank and DE Grades
Use search bar: SFU Grad Studies Queries
Main Menu>Records and Enrollment>SFU Records, Dept, GS Queries>SFU Departmental Queries - DP - Blank and DE Grades
Provides an on screen list of students with DE grades and the deadline they will be lapsing to an N grade. Includes class nbr, subject, catalog and section.
First month of new term to find to find deferred grades
Grade Roster
In search bar: Grade Roster
GoSFU > Main Menu > Records and Enrollment > Grad Enrollment Management > Grade Roster
Provides: a list of grades currently outstanding either in the “Not Reviewed” status requiring grade entry or in the “Ready for Review” status awaiting approval.
End of term when you need to ensure your grade rosters are approved and posted.
Not doing this will impact credential completion letters.
Department Grade List Status
Main Menu>Curriculum Management>Grading>SFU Department Status
Provides: a list of grades currently outstanding either in Not Reviewed orReady for Review status. Includes: subject, catalog nbr, section, class, location, instructors, due date, time and status.
Approval Statuses:
- Not Reviewed: grades not entered and roster is accessible by the instructor
- Ready for Review: grades entered and waiting for GPC approval
- Approved (APPR): grades entered and approved, no further action is required
End of term when you need to check outstanding grade rosters.
Not doing this will impact credential completion letters.
Graduate Progress Report (GPR)
In search bar: Progress Reports Status
Provides: report status, supervisor’s evaluation, chair’s evaluation and comments.
