Student Housing Master Plan – Strategic Revision

Student Housing Master Plan – Strategic Revision

SFU is working with partners Scion Advisory Services and Hanbury to deliver an updated plan that integrates current housing conditions and enrollment trends, municipal and economic factors, and the university’s broader strategic priorities—including What’s Next: The SFU Strategy, SFU’s Campus Master Plan, Academic Plan, Strategic Research Plan, Equity Compass and Accessibility Plan.

Starting in October 2025, students, staff and community members will have opportunities to share their ideas and feedback throughout the engagement process, helping shape a housing master plan that reflects the needs and values of everyone in the SFU community.

At the conclusion of this engagement, SFU will receive a comprehensive and data-informed housing plan outlining the vision and phased roadmap for the next decade (2025–2035). This plan will recommend the type, amount, and location of housing most needed to enhance the student experience, support academic success, and strengthen community vibrancy across SFU campuses.

Thank you in advance for your time and contributions to this vital project that will shape the future of student life at SFU.

Share your feedback: Engagement sessions for students taking classes on Vancouver campus

SFU is updating our long-term housing plan and wants to hear what students at our Vancouver campus think about housing and living options. Each 60-minute online session will bring together small groups of students to discuss factors that matter most in choosing where to live and how Residence and Housing can better support student success and well-being.
