Fall 2022 Move-In Begins September 3, 2022
Please Note: Booking a move in appointment allows us to plan a smooth move in day, reduce crowding and have appropriate resources in place. Residents who fail to book and appointment or arrive outside of their appointment time may be asked to wait until a less crowded timeslot to complete their move in
Early Move In
- Please make plans to arrive on move in day.
- Early move in may be approved for academic or other SFU requirements and based on availability.
- Requests must be done prior to the deadline and is available on 'My Room' in your Housing Portal, once you have a room booking.
Read our Residence 101 course
We are so excited to have you live with us this spring. This module will help introduce you to the different things you should expect when living with us.
Check your SFU email
Information will be sent to your @SFU email including move in newsletters approximately four weeks prior to move in. Keep an eye out for this newsletter as it contains important information that will help make your move in simple and easy.
Read your residence contract and handbook
You’ve signed your contract, but have you read it? What about your Residence and Housing handbook? It contains important information including: community standards, regulations and Meal Memberships.

Get Your Student ID Card
Your student card is required to access your Meal Membership. Arrange for your student ID card to ensure that you can access your Meal Membership right away.
Update your mailing list
Before you arrive, make sure you've updated your family and friends with your new address.
Getting to residence
Find out how to get to the SFU Burnaby and Vancouver Campus via public transportation or driving routes.
There will be signs posted in or near the Residence Main Parking Lot as well as the West Mall Visitors Parkade.

Residence and Housing office
The Residence and Housing office is located on the Burnaby campus, below the dining hall. The friendly staff is a great resource of information. Come by if you have a question or just want to say hello.

Get Tenant Insurance
It is always good to be prepared for an unexpected emergency such as building floods, fires and theft of your personal items. Having Tenant Insurance will give you peace of mind in case something unexpected happens to you and/or your personal belongings.
