YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD BESTOWED ON PHYSICS PROF.

October 21, 2020

Congratulations to Department of Physics researcher David Sivak who was awarded the 2021 Biophysical Society of Canada Young Investigator Award. The award recognizes the impact he has already made in the field of nonequilibrium statistical biophysics. His research program seeks to understand the inner workings of molecular machines in hopes of providing insight into the creation of new synthetic machines.

He says “I am thrilled by this recognition from the Biophysical Society of Canada, which I see as an award bestowed on the collective scientific efforts of my research group and collaborators."

Sivak is an Associate Professor at SFU and holds a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in nonequilibrium statistical biophysics.
