A new dean for the Faculty of Science—Angela Brooks-Wilson

August 03, 2022

Angela Brooks-Wilson was most recently the associate vice-president Research, pro tem, since 2020. She first joined SFU in 2008 as an associate professor in the department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology. Five years later, she became a professor in BPK and in 2016, she became chair of that department for four years. She is also a Distinguished Scientist with the BC Cancer Research Centre at BC Cancer. Her experience as a creative mentor and dedicated problem solver make her an ideal fit for the dean’s office.

Her term as dean begins October 31, 2022. Meanwhile, Michael Silverman has agreed to stay on in his dean pro tem role until October 30, 2022.

Welcome Angie! And thanks to Michael for his continuing service.
