Community Conversation on Personal Safety on Campus

November 26, 2021

In spring of 2021, SFU President Joy Johnson committed to a meaningful conversation to hear from members of the community about what safety on SFU’s campuses could and should look like.

A group of university stakeholders made up of student, staff and faculty from across SFU’s three campuses were brought together to provide recommendations for a community conversation on personal safety. This group met from April to October of 2021.

The steering committee’s report and recommendations are now available to read in full. The report will also live permanently on SFU’s Faculty and Staff Dashboard as a resource for all community members.

A broader conversation with the SFU community about personal safety on campus will launch early in 2022, and this report will guide next steps.

Future updates will be added to this page as they occur.
