Maddock on The Queen of Carthage

Read SCA alumnus Rachel Maddock in Dance International on The Queen of Carthage, a new collaboration between Re:Naissance Opera and Early Music Vancouver with SFU Woodward's Cultural Programs that features SCA alumnus Marisa Gold as Choreographer and Dancer and SCA alumnus Jessica McMann as one of the composers, running Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 8:00 PM in the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre here at SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (149 W. Re/Play The Café

Offered via The Cultch's Re/Play until September 1, 2023, watch a FREE virtual presentation of Aphotic Theatre and ITSAZOO Productions The Café, which was based on a concept by SCA alumnus Fay Nass, who also co-directed it with Chelsea Haberlin, was co-dramaturge for it with Sebastien Archibald, and co-wrote Submission, one of the eavesdroppable "conversations" in the show, with Diana Garcia. SCA alumnus Derek Chan contributed the "conversation" Space Aliens and Tropical Ducks to it, as well. Grab a ticket HERE.

Vines Art Society's Fest

Vines Art Society, founded by SCA alumnus and Vines Artistic Director Heather Lamoureux, is one of the co-presenters of the Pandora Park Community Market, which takes place August 2, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (2325 Franklin St., Vancouver). Also, the ninth annual edition of the Vines Arts Festival opens Wednesday, August 9, at 6:00 PM at St'ít'eweḵw' (Stanley Park's Second Beach) with Songs Of Resistance, featuring a bunch of performances, including SCA alumnus Anya Saugstad's Ocean Roaring ending the night at 9:05 PM. SCA alumnus Sena Cleave is part of the exhibition New & Emerging, which is at the Seymour Art Gallery (4360 Gallant Ave., North Vancouver) from July 15 – September 2, 2023. More HERE.

Tedlie-Stursberg talks with Andersson

SCA alumnus Alex Tedlie-Stursberg will be in conversation with Trapp Projects Patrik Andersson on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Monte Clark Gallery (53 Dunlevy Ave., Vancouver), presented in support of Tedlie-Stursberg's exhibition Only the Stones Remain, which is at the gallery until July 29, 2023.
