SCA winning awards!

The SCA did very well (we're regular champions!) at the 2022 FCAT Excellent Awards, held annually by the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, which the SCA is part of. Our recipients include: SCA alumni Andrea Valentine-Lewis (Emerging Alumni) and Amanda Sum (Alum of the Year), and the SCA's Ryan Tacata (Early Career Teaching Award), Judy Radul (Graduate Student Mentorship Award and Distinguished Researcher), Wladimiro A. Woyno Rodriguez (Emerging Researcher), and Elspeth Pratt (Service Award).

While those awards are great, especially the alumni ones, we're perhaps even more excited about this collection of SCA students, who all received awards and scholarships (administered by the SCA): June Hsu won the Alderson Interarts Award in the SCA ($3,100), Dag Davidge and Marita Michaelis won School for the Contemporary Arts Scholarships ($1,000 each), Zoe Braithwaite, Mia Hope, and Claine Lamb won Bice Caple Awards ($1,000 each), Riordan Huenemann and Audrey Kerridge won Steven Shane Scholarships ($3,500 each), Anna Wang-Albini won the Brian Taylor Award in Dance ($1,400), and Hana Steinwand and Perelandra Waddle won the SCA Award for Indigenous Students ($1,150 each). Congratulations! If you're an SCA student, here's the online application form for these awards and scholarships, which are given out yearly. Make sure to apply in 2023!
