The SCA's Kathy Slade's exhibition, As the sun disappears and the shadows descend from the mountaintop, which presents "a new body of work rooted in a research trip to Sils Maria, Switzerland, where Friedrich Nietzsche spent the majority of his summers during the decade he wrote his most enduring work," runs January 27 – May 7, 2023, at the Contemporary Art Gallery (555 Nelson St., Vancouver). Tacata talks with Lewis Williams, and Chambers and McGregor

Moderated by Olivia Michiko Gagnon (Theatre and Film, UBC), the SCA's Ryan Tacata will be in conversation with Nya Lewis Williams "about their multidisciplinary practices vis-à-vis the question and problem of 'the archive'" at the Coach House at UBC's Green College (6201 Cecil Green Park Rd., Vancouver) on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM, with reception to follow. Radul in Bodies Beyond Boundaries

The SCA's Judy Radul is in Bodies Beyond Boundaries, running February 7 – 25, 2023, at the Western Front, which is part of Apparition Room, a larger multi-part "immersive group exhibition" curated by Lee Plested, in total running January 14 — April 1, 2023, which celebrates the 50th birthday of the Western Front. Forgiveness is having its World Premiere from January 12 – February 12, 2023, at the Arts Club Theatre Company's Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage (2750 Granville Street, Vancouver), a joint production with Theatre Calgary, who will be presenting the show from March 7 – April 1, 2023. Upcoming as part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival: SCA alumnus Lisa Cooke Ravensbergen's The Seventh Fire, "an immersive audio performance inspired by ceremony," running January 25 – February 5, 2023, at Lobe Studio (713 East Hastings Street, Vancouver), produced by Delinquent Theatre, PuSh, and Full Circle: First Nations Performance, in association with Neworld Theatre. Winnipeg's GroundSwell has shared the video archive of a performance by Ensemble Télémaque from September 2022 that features commissioned works by SCA alumni Rita Ueda (if only rain drops) and James O'Callaghan (Know unknown xeknow). Watch it HERE.

Nazarevich's ARCMAPS

SCA alumnus Stefan Nazarevich's forthcoming "visual" album ARCMAPS, released under the name SAN, will premiere online on January 7, 2023, via arcmaps.world, "a custom-made, responsive website with glitching visuals and corroding sound effects based on how the user engages with the site." Also, the music tracks will be available on your preferred streaming platform (Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud, etc.) on January 13. And if you love it live, the album release party for ARCMAPS is Friday, January 13 at 8:00 PM at 369 Carrall Street, Vancouver. You can grab tickets HERE.
