Song From The Uproar

The SCA's Wladimiro A. Woyno Rodriguez (Co-designer, Set and Projections) and his team from The Precursor Lab, including SCA alumni Katayoon Yousefbigloo (Co-designer, Set and Projections) and Alexandra Caprara (Lighting Designer), shared some great images, both off and on stage, from City Opera Vancouver​'s presentation of Song From The Uproar: The Lives and Deaths of Isabelle Eberhardt, which runs February 29 & March 2 & 3, 2024, at The Cultch​'s York Theatre (639 Commercial Dr., Vancouver). Hill's trance-portation

The SCA's Steven Hill is holding trance-portation, a Performance Workshop, on March 9 & 10, 2024, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Russian Hall (600 Campbell Ave., Vancouver), presented by Leaky Heaven. More HERE.

Frank's Masculinity Reclaimed

Curated by SCA alumnus Fay Nass and facilitated by Nass and JD Derbyshire, the frank theatre company (where Nass is the Artistic and Executive Director) is calling for "non-binary folks, trans men, Two Spirit people, and queer women (trans, cis, lesbian, bi+, ace spectrum, butch) who identify with masculinity" to participate in "the first phase of our new community creation project, Masculinity Reclaimed," which is starting with "a community conversation" on April 15 & 16, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM PST. The add that "No professional artistic experience is required," and that they can offer a $100 honorarium and dinner each day. The deadline to apply is March 17, 2024, at midnight. More HERE.

Late Fascism – streaming!

There is a Celebration of Life for Norman Armour, an SCA alumnus and highly respected and deeply missed member of the theatre and performance community, on March 30, 2024, at 3:00 PM (doors at 2:00 PM) at the Vancouver Playhouse ( 600 Hamilton St., Vancouver). Wandering Calendar

SCA alumnus Paul Kajander (with HaeAhn Kwon as HaeAhn Paul Kwon Kajander) is participating in Wandering Calendar, a public art project "appearing around" Toronto, presented by Kunstverein Toronto. More info is forthcoming from kvtoronto.com.
