Matreyek works A Poet’s Love

The SCA's Miwa Matreyek is providing images, projection design, and choreography for a shadow dancer for Jamez McCorkle's A Poet’s Love, which is being presented on May 26 & 27 + 29 & 30, 2023, at the Queen Street Playhouse (20 Queen St, Charleston, South Carolina), as part of the Spoleto Festival USA. Yoon tour and talk

Vicki Kwon, Associate Curator of Korean Art & Culture at the Royal Ontario Museum, is holding a tour of the SCA's Jin-me Yoon's Scotiabank Photography Award exhibition in Korean on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Yoon will also be in conversation with Euijung McGillis, Assistant Curator of the Photographs Collection at the National Gallery of Canada, on June 14 at 4:00 PM (EST) via Zoom. SCA alumnus Krystle Silverfox​ is presenting Hats’adän echo (Elders Teachings) as part of the exhibition Stitching Together at Greenland's Nuuk Art Museum (Kissarneqqortuunnguaq 5, Nuuk 3900), presented as part of the Nuuk Nordic Culture Festival. SCA alumnus Michelle Sound​ learned a valuable (and adorable) lesson not to give her phone to SCA MFA student Cody Tolmie, who took this excellent set of group shots at UBC Okanagan's 2023 Indigenous Art Intensive, running May 17 – June 14, presented by UBC Okanagan Gallery and the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, which includes Sound plus SCA alumni Krystle Silverfox, Dylan Robinson, and Gabrielle L'Hirondelle Hill as participants. D’Anunciação's Soft Gaze

SCA alumnus Luciana Freire D’Anunciação is presenting Soft Gaze, a new collection of photographs she produced featuring the Roundhouse Community Dancers, from June 4 – August 31, 2023, in the Great Hall Gallery at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre​ (181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver), with a performance by the Roundhouse Community Dancers at the opening on Sunday, June 4 at 3:00 PM. Rahi readies the Global HyperOrgan

Watch a "remote control" test-run by SCA alumnus and current PhD student George Rahi of the Utopa Baroque organ at the Orgelpark in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in preparation for an intercontinental Global HyperOrgan concert on Saturday, June 10, 2023, that will connect the pipe organs of Orgelpark, Malmö, Vancouver's Pacific Spirit United Church (2195 W 45th Ave.), and the Modular Blancafort Organ, presented as part of the 2023 Annual International Orgelpark Symposium.
