Events

The SCA is an interdisciplinary art school with creative making and critical thinking at the core of all of our programs. Our state-of-the-art performance and presentation spaces are animated year-round with film screenings and visual art exhibitions, dance and performance events, music and sound offerings, design-led creations, and artist and curatorial talks.

Distinct from other postsecondary and conservatory training programs in the fine and performing arts, these productions highlight multi-disciplinary collaboration and derive mostly from students’ own creative research with our award-winning faculty and visiting professional artists. This means that the content and scheduling of work for the public also varies each academic year. Quite literally, each semester means the real-time, student engaged creation and presentation of entirely new events across the different areas in the SCA. While this means we can't offer a predictable "season" of events, we think that this way or doing things makes what we do not only unique, but also exciting, both for the SCA overall and our students and for audiences.

However, what we can promise is that every fall and spring we produce at least two full-length evenings of dance, multiple live performance events, a music and sound festival, a suite of student film festivals, and two visual art exhibitions.
