Upcoming for Bajakian

Aram Bajakian, who's a Term Lecturer in our Music & Sound area, has shared some good updates with us: He's released a a new album, Carillon: Sounds From A Dislocated Piano, which he describes like this: "This music is likely very different than any other piano album you have heard before. Each track on the album was recorded in one take. There are no overdubs or multitracking. What you hear is exactly what I recorded that afternoon during a short 3 hour session. The four tracks have short essays that accompany them and are meant to be read with the music. They are a combined work, and those that purchase the album will have access to both the essays and the music." Get the album HERE. Also, Bajakian and the SCA's Nadia Shihab are participating in a panel discussion after a screening of the Aramazt Kalayjian and Garegin Papoyan's documentary Tezeta (which "tells the story of 40 Armenians orphans who were adopted by Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie in 1924, paving the way for their role as the first Ethiopian imperial band") on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 3:30 PM at the VIFF Centre (1181 Seymour St., Vancouver), presented by the MENA Film Festival.
