Tomasta's We The Forest People
SCA alumnus Olympia Tomasta is presenting the "kenspeckled" site specific work We The Forest People as part of the 2025 edition of the Vancouver Fringe Festival, running September 4 (6:00 PM), 7 (3:00 PM), 11 (6:00 PM), and 14 (1:00 PM and 4:00 PM) at Ron Basford Park on Granville Island. Drawing from the aesthetics of Alphonse Mucha, 19th century Romanticism, and Czech and Slovak folklore, We The Forest People includes SCA students Daisy de Kroon, Dawn, and Esme Johnson, and SCA alumni Marissa Radford and Lauren Han (on harmonies) as performers, as well as SCA alumnus Patrick Maka as stage manager. Polyphonic Multilingual Creation Program calling
rice & beans theatre, which has SCA alumnus Pedro Chamale as Artistic Director, is calling for submissions from "multilingual theatre artists across Canada" for their Polyphonic Multilingual Creation Program, this time presented in partnership with the Vancouver Public Library.
