An Oral History Of Television With Judy Radul

The SCA's Judy Radul is sharing "An Oral History Of Television" on September 18, 2025, from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM, at The Polygon Gallery (101 Carrie Cates Ct, North Vancouver), presented as both an extension of her work, THIS IS TELEVISION, which is part of the exhibition Star Witnesses (at The Polygon until September 28, 2025), as well as her 2018 artist’s book, This Is Television, published by Sternberg Press. Marks' AI pledge 

The SCA's Laura U. Marks is using a "cute pledge for my upper-year and grad students" not to use AI this fall. See it on her Instagram HERE. Marks was also happy about a recent legal decision by the Supreme Court of British Columbia about Altman v. Faculty Association of Simon Fraser University, which had to do with a challenge to the SFU Faculty Association's BDS motion concerning Israel/Palestine and a motion urging divestment from the arms industry. Read her quick review HERE.

Laiwan in En Route

SCA alumnus Laiwan is part of the exhibition En Route: mobile forms of art and education, which opens Thursday, September 11 at 6:00 PM, and runs to November 16, 2025, at ECU's Libby Leshgold Gallery (520 E 1st Ave, Vancouver). More HERE.

VIDF's collaborators 

The Vancouver International Dance Festival (VIDF), which has SCA alumnus Deanna Peters as Artistic Director, has announced a team of "artistic collaborators," including SCA alumni Luciana D’Anunciação and Vanessa Goodman, as they get ready for their next iteration in March 2026. Upintheair Theatre, which has SCA alumnus Jessica Hood as Creative Producer, is calling for applications from "from artistically and culturally diverse companies and artists from across Canada" for the 2026 edition of the rEvolver festival.
