Jugdeo & Sahai on the MOCA Screen

SCA alumni Vishal Jugdeo and collaborator Vqueeram Aditya Sahai are presenting their new film, Does Your House Have Lions, on the Los Angeles' Museum of Contemporary Art's "screen" site, running April 1 – 29, 2021. Watch it HERE.

SCA @ The Dance Centre

The Dance Centre's International Dance Day 2021 event on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 11:00 AM (PDT), includes many SCA folks: Tomoyo Yamada (Clala Dance Project), Vanessa Goodman (Action at a Distance) with music by Scott Morgan (Loscil), and Meagan O’Shea (Stand Up Dance). Also, SCA alumni Sammy Chien will be part of the Amber Funk Barton curated "Dance Café" initiative on Instagram Live. Really, of course, the whole line up is great! More HERE.

SCA alumni June Fukumura (Virtual Tour Host) and Heidi Taylor (Dramaturg), who's also the Artistic & Executive Director for the Playwrights Theatre Centre, are both involved with 1 Hour Photo, which runs online from May 28 – 30, 2021, at The Cultch. The SCA's Laura Marks shared some "little jewels from the Small-File Media," as she put it, and did a Q&A for Colgate University (Friday, April 2, at 3:00 PM (EST)). SCA alumni Loretta Sarah Todd (Monkey Beach, Adapted Screenplay) and Jordan Paterson (The World is Bright, 2021 Ted Rogers Best Feature Length Documentary) are amongst the nominees for the 2021 Canadian Screen Awards, announced by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. More HERE.

Great interview with the SCA's Carr Sappier in SFU's The Peak. Sappier's not only co-teaching / co-directing this year's Skoden Indigenous Film Festival with Kathleen Mullen, they're also its co-founder with Grace Mathisen. The SCA's Ryan Tacata has been invited by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival "to create a short piece of digital art in response to themes drawn from the acronym of C.O.V.I.D.: Community, Offering, Vitality, Identity, Determination" as part of their 2021 season. More HERE.

The River Clyde Pageant, founded by SCA alumni Megan Stewart and dearly missed faculty member Ker Wells in 2015, is getting ready for summer, running July 23 – 25 & July 30 – August 1, 2021, in New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island. Keep track of the pageant and their schedule HERE.
