Turning Point Ensemble: Curio Box CD Release

Please join us for a CD launch party to celebrate the release of a Curio Box, a new recording of the Turning Point Ensemble on Orlando Records, featuring the music and conducting of Owen Underhill, faculty member in the School for the Contemporary Arts and Artistic Director of the Turning Point Ensemble.  

The CD features a new Cello Concerto by Owen Underhill performed by Ariel Barnes (cello) and the Turning Point Ensemble. Also on the disc are performances of Paul Hindemith's Kammermusik Nr. #3 (Ariel Barnes soloist) and Luciano Berio’s Folksongs (vocalist Fides Krucker). The CD was supported in part by funding provided by SFU Research (Rapid Response Grant), and SFU VPA and FCAT Research Grants. The launch party is sponsored by the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology (FCAT) Rapid Response Fund. CDs will be on sale for $15 – OR $10 with the purchase of a ticket to the world premiere of The Mute Canary by Rudolf Komorous (former Director of the SCA).
