Congratulations, Outten and Obuwoma!
Congratulations to SCA MFA student Christopher Outten and SCA alumnus Ogheneofegor (Fegor) Obuwoma (who's currently also an MFA student at UBC), who were two of the recipients of the 2026 Audain Travel Award, valued at $7,500 each. The Travel Awards were handed out at the ceremony at the Fairmont Hotel on September 23, 2026, at which Vancouver-based artist Steven Shearer was awarded the 2026 Audain Prize for the Visual Arts. Boisjoly, Slade, and Mak in Here to Play
The SCA's Raymond Boisjoly and Kathy Slade and SCA alumnus Lauraine Mak are in the exhibition Here to Play: Variation for Sixteen Hands, opening Saturday, October 3, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, and running to February 14, 2027, at SFU Burnaby's Gibson Art Museum. More HERE.
Chambers at the Or
The SCA's Justine A. Chambers is presenting One hundred more, an exhibition and residency, at the Or Gallery (236 E Pender St, Vancouver) from September 24 – December 12, 2026, with a virtual panel with Chambers and her collaborators (Laurie Young, Emese Csornai, Neda Sanai, Sarah Doucet, and Victoria Cheong) on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
