Aplica! wins!

Congratulations to SCA MFA student Luciana Saldanha Fortes and her collaborator Vanessa Milost Gonzalez, who's an MA student in international studies at SFU, for winning Coast Capital Savings' Venture Connection Award for female entrepreneurship for their start-up business, Aplica!, which "provides individualized guidance to students in Brazil applying to college or university in Canada or the United States." As Gonzalez and Fortes tell the SFU Faculty of Arts & Social Science (FASS) news site, “We are just starting to bring Aplica! to Canada, and to win an award at this stage gives us a boost to invest more time and resources into our project. We couldn’t be prouder to achieve recognition as female entrepreneurs in an entrepreneurial landscape that is still very much male-dominated.” Read more about the Coast Capital Savings' Venture Connection Award HERE and more about Aplica! from SFU FASS HERE.
