Karakasa Obake

SCA visual art student Phoebe Huang sent us some 'in process' pictures of an installation she's working on with her SCA peers Jana Ghimire, Haylee Marx, Elisha Wang, and Carmen Wong, who together won the Powell Street Festival’s third annual design competition. Called 'Karakasa Obake,' Phoebe says their work is a "Japanese umbrella that takes the form of a trickster spirit with one eye and one foot." And it's going to be 12 feet tall! Read more about it on the Powell Street Festival's site.
