Mohammad Zaki Rezwan x 2

SCA MA student Mohammad Zaki Rezwan has been busy recently. Not only has he just published a smart 'reflection' on Cedric Bomford's Mountain Embassy, a project by SFU Galleries on view at SFU Burnaby, on SFU Galleries' blog (READ IT HERE), he has also curated an exhibition of work by the Bangladesh-based artist Tayeba Begum Lipi at Centre A Gallery in Vancouver.

Titled Tayeba Begum Lipi: Unveiling, the exhibition "engages an embodied inquiry into the transitioning of sociocultural and sociopolitical realities" in Bangladesh, addressing issues of "female marginality, colourism, enforced female beauty standards, and the male gaze." Read the full exhibition text HERE.

Tayeba Begum Lipi: Unveiling runs November 15 – December 14, 2019, and has a closing reception on December 14 from 4 – 6PM.
