Donate to the Ker Wells Memorial Fund

In Ker Wells' honour, his friends and colleagues have established the Ker Wells Memorial Fund at SFU. Your gift will pay tribute to Ker by supporting performance students in the School for the Contemporary Arts. It is our wish to raise $20,000 in order to create an endowed award at SFU. Donate HERE.

Skoden – it's on!

Don't miss the Skoden Indigenous Film Festival (SIFF), running April 1 & 2, 2022, here at SFU's Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (149 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC), which is presented as several different programs:

Boisjoly The Explanatory Void

If you were hoping to see the SCA's Raymond Boisjoly at the recent opening for Everyone is Happening Always, the SCA 2022 BFA Project exhibition he was the faculty supervisor for (which runs until April 2, 2022, at SFU Galleries' Audain Gallery), he was actually unavoidably away to help install and open his own exhibition, The Explanatory Void, which runs July 24, 2022, at the MIT List Visual Arts Center. Wood's Dry Rot

SCA alumnus Jordyn Wood is presenting their play Dry Rot, directed by Zac Scott, as part of this year's OR Festival, which runs April 9 & 10, 2022, at the Moberly Arts & Cultural Centre (7646 Prince Albert St., Vancouver). Grab tickets HERE.

TPE's In the Distance

The SCA's Owen Underhill shares the baton with leading Croatian composer and conductor Berislav Šipuš for the Turning Point Ensemble's upcoming concert, In the Distance, on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 7:30 PM (PDT) in the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre here at SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (149 W. Hastings St., Vancouver). Part of a multi-year project involving the exchange of the ensembles and artistic directors of Turning Point Ensemble (Underhill) and Cantus Ensemble (Šipuš) of Zagreb, In the Distance is presented by our friends SFU Woodward's. Saloman Mindel's Landscape & Life

SCA alumnus Gabriel Saloman Mindel curated a "year-long exhibition series" titled Landscape & Life at Santa Cruz's Indexical, which focuses on the notion of "landscape as it relates to race, politics and power in regions around the globe." The series concludes with a presentation of Paul Walde's multichannel audiovisual installation Alaska Variations, opening Friday, April 1, 2022, from 5pm to 9pm (PDT). More HERE.

SCA alumnus Vanessa Goodman and Caroline Shaw's Graveyards and Gardens is heading Calgary to be New Works Calgary's (where SCA alumnus Rebecca Bruton is co-Artistic Director) "first live, indoor show in over two years," on April 15 & 16, 2022, co-presented by Springboard Performance.
