Schroeder's Stircrazer I – now on video!

The good folks at Music on Main have shared the video of Architek Percussion's performance of the SCA's Sabrina Schroeder's Stircrazer I, filmed live on Tuesday, March 29, 2021, at the Heritage Hall. Watch it HERE.

Boisjoly's talks "Resisting Mastery" – now on video! – and in Out of Control

Watch the archived livestream of the SCA's Raymond Boisjoly's talk "Resisting Mastery," given on July 18, 2022, for the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA)'s MFA in Studio Arts program. Clark's Persistence and Loss and on George Hunt

SCA instructor Joseph Clark's short film Persistence and Loss is being presented as part of the The Festival of (In)appropriation at the Los Angeles Filmforum this fall. Carter's Residuals (住み・墨) and Omote (面)

Read a quick "2022-2023 Season Spotlight" from The Dance Centre on SCA alumnus and Iris Garland Emerging Choreographer Award recipient Shion Skye Carter's Residuals (住み・墨), which runs November 4 & 5, 2022, at the Scotiabank Dance Centre, co-presented with the Powell Street Festival. In his capacity as s Associate Editor at Espace art actuel, SCA alumnus Didier Morelli is moderating a roundtable at Montréal's Foire Papier / Papier Art Fair on Saturday, August 26, 2022, at 4:00 PM with Julia Eilers Smith, Cécilia Bracmort, and Itay Sapir about Espace's forthcoming issue on "Flesh/Chair," which Morelli directed. SCA alumnus Charlene Vickers is a finalist for the Alberta Magazine Awards, with winners announced September 22, 2022, at the annual conference of the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association. Soji-George co-curates

As a member of The Black Arts Centre in Surrey, SCA MA student Moroti Soji-George co-curated two upcoming exhibitions – I see; I breathe; I am! and Concealed Cultures: Visualizing the Black Vernacular – at the Surrey Art Gallery, running September 17 – December 11, 2022. 

Clala Dance Project seeks sound designer / music producer

Clala Dance Project, the collective of SCA alumni Tomoyo Yamada and Charlotte Telfer-Wan and SCA student Ana Daria Vieru, is looking for a sound designer / music producer to work with them on their new project. More HERE.

Dai, Chien, and Kim in The Five Vengeances

SCA alumni Howard Dai, Sammy Chien, and Jonathan Kim are all part of Affair of Honor's presentation of Jovanni Sy's The Five Vengeances – "a hilarious, modern, epic theatre adaptation of a classic Jacobean tragedy, told in the style of a kung fu movie that promises to entertain with its spectacular martial arts choreography, gleeful dark humour, and groovy homage to the 1970s" – which has launched a fundraising campaign. Rahi at HCMA

SCA George Rahi was the 2022 artist in residence at HCMA Architecture + Design, where he explored their "materials library to listen to the timbres and resonance of various building materials," and then "created some methods of augmenting a building into musical instrument, playing on the notion of architecture as 'frozen music'." Koochakzadeh-Yazdi at the Skirball
