Priest's Many Traceries
Sample the track many traceries, several(lly) from the album Many Traceries by the SCA's Eldritch Priest, supported by Marc Couroux, David Benchekroun, and Kenji Fusé, to be released fully on July 16, 2021, by the re-launching Rat-drifting label. Listen HERE.
Kitsos' collection of SCA students' collaborative videos
The SCA's Rob Kitsos has posted a great collection of video works by SCA students from a recent version of the "Interdisciplinary Studio: Composition / Collaboration" course he taught. Check them out HERE.
Daniel online and in a round table
Watch the video archive of the talk "AfroModernisms, Afrofuturisms – Choreographing Discourse" by the SCA's Henry Daniel, which he presented online for the class "Wakanda: African Futures in Education" at the The University of Melbourne in January, 2021. Also, Daniel was part of the round table "BLM and the Canadian Theatre and Performance Landscape" with Naila Keleta-Mae, Quincy Armorer, Cherissa Richards, Mike Payette, and chaired by Taiwo Afolabi on July 8, presented as part of the Canadian Association for Theatre Research (CATR) and the Société québécoise d’études théâtrales (SQET) 2021 joint conference "Crisis and Recovery: Theatre and Performance Before and After the Global Pandemic." withintensions' Collaborate and Manifesto
withintensions, the art mag run by SCA alumni, is calling for submissions for their next issue on the theme of Manifesto, which they say is "open to interpretation" but should be something that "embodies your ethos as an artist or writer." Jeffery's Manboyhood
SCA alumni Daniel Jeffery has remastered (is that a pun here somehow?) and re-released Manboyhood, an older documentary short he made about his young adult friend's medically necessary circumcision. Candid, vivid, maybe not for the squeamish, and oddly sincere. Watch it HERE.
