The Alderson Interarts Award

We're very excited about the new Alderson Interarts Award, generously supported by Evan and Ingrid Alderson. Open to all fourth-year SCA BFA majors, the award provides $3,000 to help the recipient complete their studies. Read more about the award and its generous benefactors HERE.

Tacata and For You's Dr. G’s Bingo Extravaganza

The SCA's Ryan Tacata and Erika Chong Shuch and Rowena Richie, his collaborators in the performance group For You, are presenting Dr. G’s Bingo Extravaganza from July 20 – 24, 2022, at Carpenter Hall (15 S Pioneer St, Ashland, OR), presented in recognition of Oregon's Dr. Geneva Craig, "a civil rights leader, frontline nurse, and action movie lover with a penchant for Vegas glitz," plus with all ticket proceeds going to BASE Southern Oregon and Black Southern Oregon Alliance. A Light Footprint in the Cosmos exhibition tours – on video

Organized by the SCA's Laura Marks and members of the Substantial Motion Research Network (SMRN), A Light Footprint in the Cosmos symposium, which included exhibitions, performances, and screenings, ran June 24 – 27, 2022. SCA in The Cultch 2022 season

The Cultch just announced their season and some SCA folks are among the teams presenting works, including alumnus Amanda Sum as a certain famous someone in the East Van Panto's take on The Little Mermaid, along with alumni Arthi Chandra (Assistant Director), Cindy Mochizuki (Concept Artist and Illustrator), and Sophie Tang (Lighting Designer). Tang (Set Designer) is also part of Ins Choi's Bad Parent, which also includes alumnus Derek Chan (Managing Artistic Director). Alumnus Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg (Choreography) is part of Rick Waines' In My Day, which has regular SCA instructor Norman Armour as co-producer, too. See the whole season's lineup HERE.
