Daniel talks dance

The SCA's Henry Daniel will be part of a panel with Dr. L’Antoinette Stines on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM (CST), moderated by PhD student Webster McDonald and presented by the Department of Theatre & Dance at the University of Kansas. Long range announcement but too good not to share already: the SCA's Raymond Boisjoly is having his first US museum exhibition from March 25 – July 17, 2022, at the MIT List Visual Arts Center. More HERE.  

Pauly for Gladman

The SCA's Mauricio Pauly composed and performed a work to accompany a lecture by Renee Gladman, entitled Theory for Moving Houses, on October 8, 2021, presented as part of Arizona State University's Bagley Wright Lecture Series on Poetry. More HERE.

Dickinson at GALVANIZING DANCE/STUDIES

The SCA's Peter Dickinson is participating in Dance Studies Association's conference, GALVANIZING DANCE/STUDIES: Building Antiracist Praxis, Transformative Connections, and Movement(s) of Radical Care, which is running October 10 – 17, 2021, in New Brunswick, NJ, co-presented by Rutgers University. SCA alumni Sammy Chien and the Chimerik 似不像 crew are part of the Theatre Passe Muraille's Digital Creators Lab in Toronto, and will be giving a FREE virtual public workshops on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM (PST). O'Callaghan for dancing

Music by SCA alumni James O'Callaghan was used by Edouard Lock for a new solo work, ECHO, for dancer Rachele Buriassi, the principal ballerina of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, both as a film (set to O'Callaghan's Alone and unalone, performed by Ensemble Paramirabo) and a live performance (set to O'Callaghan's Doubt is a body, performed by Clarice Collins). SCA alumni (and current Sessional Instructor) Yi Xin Tong's work TIMELESS, presented with Shanzhai Lyric and Solveig Qu Suess, is part of the Ghost Ship and the Sea Change, the 11th Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art, running until November 21, 2021. More HERE.
