Marks in the Oxford Handbook of Communist Visual Cultures

The SCA's Laura Marks contributed "Coda: Flashes of Arab Communism" to the just-launched Oxford Handbook of Communist Visual Cultures, edited by and with contributions from Aga Skrodzka, Xiaoning Lu, and Katarzyna Marciniak. Sundin in Capture

SCA alumni Vilhelm Sundin will be presenting new work at the Monte Clark Gallery from April 1 – May 1, 2021, as part of the 2021 Capture Photography Festival. More HERE.

Performance Matters' Sound Acts, Part 1

Read the latest issue of Performance Matters, the house journal of the Institute for Performance Studies, which is directed by the SCA's Peter Dickinson. This issue, "Sound Acts, Part 1," is the first of two linked special issues that explore the resonances of sound in the field of performance studies, asking, "how the materiality of sound acts as a form of aesthetic and political possibility." O'Callaghan wins

Congratulations to SCA alumni James O'Callaghan for winning the Opus Composer of the Year Award, receiving $10,000 from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) and the Conseil québécois de la musique (CQM). More HERE (in Français).
