Radul in the Gwangju Biennial

The SCA's Judy Radul is in Korea to be part of the Gwangju Biennial, which runs April 1 to May 9, 2021. One of only four artists able to make the trip, read about the Biennial and Radul's time there HERE.

SCA dancers for MascallDance

SCA dancers are involved in two ongoing projects with MascallDance: The Impossible has Already Happened, which features SCA PhD candidate Daisy Thompson and alumni Marissa Gold, and PRIVILEGE, which features alumni Erica Mitsuhashi, Eowynn Enquist, and Gold. Ekmeles plays Bruton

The Ekmeles vocal ensemble will be premiering a new work, i n s t i t u, by SCA alumni Rebecca Bruton at a FREE concert on Saturday, February 27, at 8:00 PM, and will stay online for a week. More HERE.

Cheung in Colonial Imports

SCA alumni Joni Cheung aka "Snack Witch" contributed to the inaugural issue of Colonial Imports, a new arts publication from Yolkless Press that "unravels and interweaves food, culture, identity, and placemaking, with original contributions by artists and writers based in Mohkínstsis as well as farther afield." Weekend Chime panel

SCA alumni (and your dutiful SCA Communicator) Brady Cranfield and Casey Wei and Betty Mulat and Russell Wallace participated in a listening event and discussion on February 25, 2021, about pop music, politics, and everyday life, presented by the Vancouver Art Gallery in support of Cranfield's new public art work, Weekend Chime, which was supported by City of Vancouver's Cultural Services. SCA alumni Pablo Alvarez Mesa is presenting his documentary Bicentenario at the MoMA, as part of "Doc Fortnight 2021," MoMA’s Festival of International Festival of Nonfiction Film and Media. Marks' A World Where Flowers Reign

As part of Vancouver Independent Archives Week's 2019-2021 Recollective programming, the SCA's Laura Marks is presenting A World Where Flowers Reign, a new text in response to The Upper Side of the Sky (October 12, 2020-April 30, 2021), an online VR exhibition by Jawa El Khash, curated by Dana Qaddah, and Posterity & Expatriation, a conversation between by Jawa El Khash and Dana Qaddah that took place on Saturday, November 28, 2020.
